New Board Members
SAVIS of Halton is Seeking Diverse Members to Sit on Our Board of Directors!
Our Mandate
Our mandate is to provide free, confidential, and non-judgmental 24-hour support to all survivors of violence including women, men, and members of the transgender and gender-fluid community. We advocate against violence in the community at large and promote prevention through community education.
The Board of Directors is looking for candidates who demonstrate an interest in ending gender-based violence and human trafficking or have lived experiences surviving gender-based violence. Previous experience serving on a non-profit, community-based board and/or committee would be an asset. SAVIS of Halton’s Board of Directors works in partnership with its Executive Director to ensure the success of the organization. Major responsibilities of Board Directors include governance leadership; financial oversight; strategic planning; fundraising; promotion of the organization; and advocacy and public education.
Board Directors are expected to support SAVIS at SAVIS hosted events, annual meeting, Take Back the Night, fundraising events and community awareness events.
How to apply: Please send your resume and cover letter, describing your experience and your motivation for wanting to join the SAVIS of Halton Directors to the Ruth Chun, Board Chair.
