Who we are

Sexual Violence is an umbrella term that describes any violence, physical or psychological that is carried out through a sexual means by targeting sexuality (Ontario’s Sexual Violence Action Plan: 6, 2011).

Sexual assault and violence are persistent forms of gender-based violence that are rooted in a history of gender inequality. According to the Canadian Women’s Foundation, sexual assault is the only violent crime in Canada that has not declined.

Survivors of Sexual Abuse and Assault Reveal an Important Truth

Rosie & the Riveters

I Believe You

We wrote this song as a response to the hundreds of stories we’ve heard from friends, family, and in the media. Proceeds from “I Believe You” will be donated to organizations that provide support for survivors of sexual assault.

What is Consent?

Consent is the permission for something to happen or an agreement to do something. The law requires individuals to take the reasonable steps to find out whether the other person is consenting (or saying yes). In Canada the legal age at which someone can give consent is 16 with two exceptions known as “Close in Age” or “Peer Group.”

You cannot give consent under the influence of alcohol or other substances, it is against the law. Consent must be freely given, it is reversible, it should be enthusiastic, and informed! Clothing does not give anyone consent- no one is asking for it!
